About my recipes. Firstly you will notice that they don’t all include your standard keto vegetables such as cauliflower, zucchini and broccoli. Also there not heavy on the bacon either. This is down to the way I shop.
I also am a believer in local, happy produce so use a CSA program for my vegetables. This way I am getting the most seasonal and a variety of vegetables each fortnight. Rather than using the same old vegetables each day. I use Angelica Organic Farm and they are fantastic as they take my keto and allergy need into consideration so no potatoes for me.
You can also get your chicken and duck on CSA programs which I will be doing when they next become available. Apart from that I shop at farmers markets for my meat and standard vegetables. This gives me a great, ethical and organic variety to cook with.
When I was researching keto diets I noticed that all the recipes were for 4-6 people and they were mainly the main dish only. You had to add the side dishes sometimes blowing out your macros. Or even still some recipes didn’t have macros at all. Making it very confusing.
When I decided to write a keto blog, I wanted the recipes to be for one to two people firstly, and secondly be a full meal. So you get a full meal with all your sides. And lastly your macros so there is no need for you to calculate them you know upfront if that recipe will fit into your macros for the day.
So happy cook and go keto xx
